Yoga at Home for a little longer....


Two weeks in and I'm confident, hearing the news, that 'lockdown' is going to last a little longer... how does that make me feel? 

Am I allowed to be totally, utterly honest?? I'm quite okay with it. In fact, I'm probably happy about it; not just because I care deeply about those that need to be protected from the spread of this horrible virus, but also because I'm a home-bird. A real home-bird.

I've never been one to lust after travelling and even after a 10-day holiday with The Husband, I look forward to getting home to my cats and parents (despite not living with them since I was 19.) Home is my safe place. Now living in Saddleworth, I'm the happiest I've ever been in a house and a location - we've moved 5 times in 17 years - and I have the best neighbours anyone could ever wish for.

If you've ever had to deal with anxiety or depression, you'll understand how important a 'safe place' is. We've created our home to be the cosiest, comfiest, warmest, welcoming space I could ever hope for - not just for myself but anyone who visits.

Of course, I'm missing things... mainly my parents - because I usually see them 3-4 times a week, and even though they've popped by and waved through the window and they take part in every single online class I teach, it's not quite the same. I miss my dad's tight squeezes and my mum's snuggles. We've arranged a couple of 'family Zoom catch-ups' and they've been pure comedy - I'm so thankful to have the funniest family ever!

I'm also missing 'brunch.' I probably shouldn't declare this here in case my husband reads it, but I 'do brunch' quite a lot - sometimes on my own and sometimes with friends... I'm missing hugs - from my neighbours - although we're still talking 'over the fence' as such - from my Yoga students, from friends, from my best friend - I'm such a touchy-feely person that when all of this over, I think I'll be hugging Takunda who delivers my DHL parcels!!!

BUT - I'm absolutely loving teaching Yoga and Movement online. Although I'm not seeing people in 4D form, I am seeing them - and I'm having a right good nosey into their homes too!!! ;))) I've been able to welcome more students than ever into my world. Most of the spaces I teach from have a capacity limit but yoga-ing in your own home doesn't matter. I've taught people from all corners of the globe - Kuwait, Al Ain, Boston, Cornwall and Scotland to name just a few! THIS is my goal - to share my knowledge and expertise with as many humans as possible - not for monetary gains - but because I'm 100% sure that everyone needs Yoga and Movement in their life - specifically my style of Yoga and Movement.

Don't get me wrong, it was nerve-wracking at first but it's you guys that have made it easier each time.... the feedback, praise and thank you messages I've received have totally overwhelmed me. I cannot thank you enough for the support I've been given. It's made me up my game - I'm in the process of more self-development and online learning, I'm tweaking the Sass Business Plan and I'm feeling more creative than ever - all because I want to give my upmost best to you.

So the Sass Online Classes are set to continue - for how long, I'm not sure. What I do know though is even when all of this is over and we head back to our 'normal lives,' I think there'll be some kind of virtual Sass still continuing... let's just see hey!
